Dear Grace Family,

This Sunday, the 18 th of October, we will celebrate a special moment in the life of

our parish as we present our Pledge Cards for our 2027 Stewardship Campaign. I

invite you to embrace this moment as an opportunity to give thanks to God for all

we have received and to renew our commitment to the mission we share as a

community of faith.

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Matthew 22:21, Jesus tells us, “Give to Caesar what

belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God.” With these words, Jesus

reminds us that we have responsibilities in our society, but He also invites us to

recognize that our lives, our talents, our time, and everything we are, are gifts that

come from God, our Father and Creator.

Christian stewardship grows out of this very experience: we do not give in order to

buy God’s love, but because we have already been loved by Him. Our generosity

is a response to His grace. Therefore, our financial contributions should not be a

source of worry, but rather a decision made prayerfully, freely, and joyfully,

according to each family’s circumstances and abilities.

Dear Grace congregation, our parish is not only a community called to share the

love of Christ, celebrate our faith, support one another in difficult times, and serve

those who need a helping hand; it is also a physical place: a beautiful and historic

church building, the Parish Hall, the offices and our Hands of Grace Center, the

Rectory and its garage, the parking lot, and our large garden. All these spaces

require care, maintenance, and improvement. This is precisely what we have been

working on since we arrived here in August of last year. Every contribution helps us

continue this work, and every shared talent and hour of service helps our

community grow. We need everyone, because each of us has something to offer.

As we submit our pledge cards this Sunday, let us ask ourselves a simple

question: How can I continue to contribute, with gratitude and generosity, to God’s

mission in our parish? Our contributions may differ, and that is perfectly fine. What

matters is that each one comes from a grateful heart and a sincere desire to walk

and work together.

May the Lord continue to bless our families. May everything we give, our money,

our time, our talents, and our love, be a grateful response to the blessings we

receive each day from God’s hands.

With love and gratitude in Christ,

Fr Fabio Chaparro

Priest-in-Charge

hacen crecer nuestra comunidad.

Padre Fabio Chaparro

Sacerdote encargado.

Celtic Evening Prayer at Grace/La Gracia

Tuesday, November 3, at 7:00 PM

Gathering the first Tuesday of every month

On Election Day, come rest in the peace of Christ. Join us for quiet prayer, soothing music, and silent reflection as we share November’s theme, Blessed Remembrance.

Parishioner Nancy Anthony shares this invitation:

“On Tuesday, October 6, six of us gathered in the sanctuary for our first service of Celtic Evening Prayer led by Archdeacon Eileen. What a perfect way to end our busy days. Quiet and contemplative with soothing music. The Celts believed that God lives in all living things and their prayers encompass this idea. After the service, we had a quiet celebration with food and wine.

“Next month, the service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, which is also Election Day. I encourage anyone who wants to end the day in a calm and spiritual way to attend. I plan to be there myself.”

— Nancy Anthony

Whatever the day has held, bring your whole self and find a peaceful place to pray.

All are welcome.
