Worship Ministries
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild prepares the church for worship. They follow what are sometimes ancient traditions as they make everything ready for all to worship. This is a guild, meaning that it is a community dedicated to this special task and to the support of each of its members as they unite around this common task. If you would like to join the Altar Guild, ask a worship leader to direct you to a member. (description of meetings, etc.—ask Mardi)
Acolytes
At Grace acolytes are usually young people. Some young people are called to this ministry. Some are not. We can encourage our children in this (and other ministries), but like all of us, they have the right and responsibility to decline. Acolytes receive training and are then scheduled once or twice a month to serve at worship. They carry processional torches or the processional cross and serve at the altar as the offerings are collected and the table is set.

Worship Leaders
At Grace Church, the Liturgy of the Word is led primarily by Worship Leaders. They also read one of the lectionary lessons and assist with serving the wine at Holy Communion. Worship Leaders are trained at Grace. They are also trained and licensed by the Diocese in a more comprehensive program. We encourage Worship Leaders at Grace to become licensed through the Diocese. Interested persons should speak with the priest.
Greeters
These are members who volunteer to greet worshippers, make sure everyone has what they need to participate, and bring forward the offerings for Holy Communion. (Suzanne Johnson is in charge of this.)
Coffee hour hosts
All are invited to host coffee hour which is really an informal extension of our worship. You can volunteer by signing up at the back of the church. Coffee hour hosts make the coffee and provide drinks and snacks for this social time together.
If you are interested in being part of any of these ministries, please contact the church office at (208) 466-0782 or gracechurchnampa@gmail.com
