Dear Grace Family:

As we continue our journey of preparation for living out authentic Christian

stewardship, let us reflect this week on a fundamental principle: victory over

selfishness. For this reflection, I quote from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Philippians,

Chapter 2, verses 3 to 5: “Let each of you humbly think of others as being

better than yourselves. Do not look out for your own interests, but rather for

the interests of others. Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also

yours in Christ Jesus.”

Saint Paul invites us to look beyond our own interests and cultivate humility by

following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ. Overcoming selfishness does not

mean devaluing ourselves, but recognizing that others also have needs, gifts, and

a dignity that deserves our respect and love.

Jesus taught us that true greatness is found in service. Therefore, Christian

stewardship invites us to understand that our time, talents, and resources are gifts

from God that we can place at the service of others.

In our parish, overcoming selfishness means learning to work together, listen

respectfully, appreciate each person’s gifts, and contribute generously to the

mission God has entrusted to us. We may not all be able to give the same, but we

can all offer something with love.

Stewardship begins when we stop asking only what we receive and start asking

what we can offer. When we share generously, our faith becomes visible, and our

parish grows stronger.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, let us ask ourselves this week: Am I willing to share

my time, talents, and resources to strengthen our parish community?

Let us ask the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts and help us embrace the same

attitude as Christ, so that Grace Episcopal Church may become an ever more

generous, loving, and united community, committed to the Gospel, the building up

of the Church, and the creation of a better world.

With gratitude and blessings,

No

recibimos y empezamos a preguntarnos qué podemos ofrecer. Cuando

compartimos generosamente, nuestra fe se hace visible y nuestra parroquia se

fortalece.

Padre Fabio Chaparro
